Long time - No write...

WHAT?!

Over a month since my last post??

I sorta forgot about the blogosphere for awhile and it was a rather enjoyable time. Pregnancy hormones can cause frequent interruptions in the routines of one's life. And that's ok. Or that's what I'm learning. I've read about other women experiencing this self-absorption time during pregnancy. All thoughts seem to be turned inward and downward - focusing on all things maternal, birth-related, and baby-ish. Sometimes it drives me nuts. I try to do or think about anything but THAT again. It's almost like I'm crazy. Insane! Or worse!!

So the blog was on the back-burner. And it might be again after today....

Last week, I went in for the three hour glucose test to see if I have gestational diabetes. My first test showed my blood sugar was elevated a little. I am desperately hoping and praying that it was because I ate way too much sugar the day before the test! I should be getting the results within a day or two.

Today is ~D~'s 10 birthday. We've had a nice day together. I made his favorite breakfast which he ate off the special "Red Plate." He opened a present this morning. We gave him one of those Tonka wooden models. He put it together quickly and has spent much of the day painting it.

Birth stuff: I have an insurance guy working to get me into a birth center. The birth center currently doesn't take our insurance, but they are looking into it and are supposed to let me know Thursday. I am praying that I can go there instead of the hospital!! The local Bradley teacher offered to give my husband and I a one day-cram course which we'll do in October. And I have a dear friend who has offered to be my doula. I feel so blessed! So thankful.

Time to get the Chicken Fried Rice going for supper. This meal is a frequent-flyer at our house. They love rice so much that I wonder if they are part Chinese.

Rejoice,
Give thanks,
and Pray -
Marla
