Hail, hail.. thank you Dell!

I was off the computer for a few days after a bad thunderstorm. We thought lightning zapped our computer because the screen was flashing on and off and it had lots of other weird symptoms. After a couple of long phone calls with Dell's tech support people, we were able to restore it back to good health. We don't think lightning got it, but a driver for the graphics card went haywire and caused general disorder. Anyhow, I'm back, and I'm glad the hard drive didn't crash!!!

Our van took a beating from that storm though. I was out driving around when hail the size of big marbles started pounding on us. So, the van has hail damage but at least its an old van!

I'm starting to get back-to-school-itus. The boys are too, but they don't know that's what their problem is. Too many days of summer freedom leads to chaos in our house and our minds. We all feel like we need that school time routine again. Getting up in the morning with a purpose, spending time together learning, laughing, and reading... And Clara will add a dash of playfulness to our school days.

"Schools should be the most joyful places in the world because, you know, learning is the greatest joy. To learn something is fantastic because every time you learn something you become something new."
~ Leo F. Buscaglia

Homeschools should be the most joyful places in the world!!! That will be one of my goals for this year!

What goals do you have in mind for the upcoming school year, homeschool, or otherwise?

Tink definitely needs the structure of a school day. Summer is making her a very naughty little girl.

I'm absolutely excited about this fall. I decided to use the Charlotte Mason approach and the mroe I study it the more excited I get. I'm having way too much fun planning books and lessons. I want real learning to take palce in a fun way this year!

This is only my second year homeschooling. My daughter will be doing 1st grade work. I plan to incorporate a lot of reading as both she and I love to read. I will do some hands-on preschool stuff with my boys. We're also joining a co-op. I am looking forward to school starting too, but still haven't decided when to start! My husband has had a crazy schedule all summer and it is just returning to normal, so I want to enjoy that for awhile before schooling again!
