This year my boys are taking the PASS test (Personalized Achievement Summary System.) The main reasons I decided to go with this achievement test instead of the IOWA or Stanford was because it has been developed especially for homeschool families, and parents can administer the test at home. I had never heard of this test until I did a search on the internet, specifically looking for tests that I, a parent (not a certified teacher) could administer. It is similar to other achievement tests, measuring student's levels in the areas of reading, language, and math. Three states have officially approved this test for state reporting purposes (New York, North Carolina and Alaska.) The cool thing about this test is that the results will show not only how my children compare with the public school kids, but also homeschooled kids!!!
Check it out!
